Thank you, Sister. Like others, I was moved by this: "“Stay as close as you can,” he seemed to say, “Or as far as you need. I will love you from here.”" I will offer these words to parishioners and directees who need them.
Every post you share is eye-opening for me; I hadn’t understood that spiritual abuse was something so many people had suffered through. Thank you for sharing such a breathtakingly tender encounter with Jesus.
Thank you, Katelyn. I’m so grateful that sharing my own experience is helpful for you. I think we will hear more and more stories like what we have shared. Our hope is that these stories will continue to be heard and form the way we listen and respond to the need for renewal in the Church. Thank you for sharing how your own heart has been opening to this reality. It means a lot. It takes courage to listen also.
I’ve worked with so very many survivors who have struggled in this way. Thank you for sharing your experience and how you moved through it, Sister. I wish you well and pray for your continued healing. Take good care. 💗🙏🏻
I often have the same difficulty - envisioning an image of Jesus that comforts me.
When I was about thirteen, I had a vivid dream of Jesus extending His hands toward me. Nothing else was visible - only His hands. I instantly placed my hands in His and woke up.
Knowing He’s that close is comforting during life’s toughest moments.
Thank you, Rita.
