I learned of your journey via JVL of The Bulwark. I'm an agnostic who strives to do unto others what I would have others do unto me and just generally serve the least among these.

Your explanation of the thoughtful choices behind the components of your religious habit was really moving. It suggests a group of women who have devoted a great amount of thought and prayer to how they can best serve those they feel called to serve.

A key reason people like me are disincentivized from joining formal religious groups is the feeling that many perform those services in attainment of a goal shared by all their peers, but that goal is not the care and nurturing of our larger community.

You restore that lost faith.

Thank you so much Susanne, your insights mean a lot to us because if our words don't reach outside the Catholic bubble then they do not mean much in terms of the work we feel called to do. Thank you for commenting.

I’m a victim survivor of clergy abuse. You are so needed and I’ve often hoped the Lord would raise up a community during this painful time.

As a devotee of the Memento Mori Devotion, I rejoice in the prominence given to that in your habits, Sisters. Prayers as you continue to discern through the darkness and affirm the light.

What does anawim mean?

I saw further down in the comment thread that you're putting together a collection of prayers to pray with you for reparation. I'm eagerly looking forward to seeing it. I've done some research into the spiritual realities of abuse in the Church (I'm going to be "that" person and include a link to my write up about it), and been horrified by what I found. This apostolate is so desperately needed. However I can join you in it, I'd like to.

I appreciate the precise considerations behind the fourfold sacrilege that takes place in sexual abuse during confession. Seminary formation is supposed to invest us with an acute sense of the importance of what we are about, and how that can become obscure or forgotten frightens me sometimes.

"Anawim" I understand to mean the poor and lowly, particular recipients of the compassion of God and hopefully also of the community of believers.

I grew up in a parish dedicated to St. Therese, so your dedication reaches me. I wish you blessings from our Lord in the Eucharist, His Blessed Mother, and of the Doctor of the Little Way.

Is there a third order or association secular I’m very interested in this

This is not in our plans at the moment. (Right now, we are just focusing on doing our mission and keeping a roof over our heads!) But we do plan on putting together prayers that people can pray with us in reparation for the sins of members of the Church. We will send out an email when we have that available. In the meantime, we would really appreciate if you could join us in prayer for our mission and for the people we serve. Thank you for asking!
